Our poster activity will help you understand how polar bears survive some of the cold conditions in the world and comes with a template to make your own recycled polar bear, our fact file will tell you all about life in the Poles and our eco hero is Sheila Watt-Cloutier, an Inuit activist fighting for the Arctic. Our recipe is for vegan tuna-mayo, a yummy meat-free alternative and our I Spy card tells you more about measuring your carbon footprint and what it means. There’s a polar bear rhyme to discover more about the mighty polar bear as well as a postcard to help you start a campaign to get everyone thinking about how they can help save the Arctic. There’s also a quiz to test your polar bear knowledge, a pledge card and 20 polar bear facts to wow your friends. There’s 2 activity cards packed with eight fun puzzles so you can start becoming a polar bear expert immediately!
Activities include discovering how polar bears ‘float’ on the snow, by making floating polar bears, we’ll get creative by making frozen ornaments and we’ll get a little stinky with a series of experiments to test your sense of smell. We’ll also get cozy with some top tips to make the perfect den, just like a polar bear and her cubs!
There’s also a little something for grown-ups inside to help you answer questions about why sea ice matters, as well as a useful glossary.
