Research suggests that both educators and young people care deeply about environmental issues and have a strong desire to protect our planet.
Environmental issues such as climate change, decreasing biodiversity, habitat destruction and pollution are huge global issues, however the prospect of teaching them can be intimidating, leaving many feeling overwhelmed.

How can our Tool Kits For Eco Heroes help your school?
Themed resource
Each of our Tool Kits is themed around a specific environmental issue or an endangered animal. Whatever the theme, all the activities gently help children understand what’s going on in the world and how they can make a difference closer to home.

Learning opportunities
Activities are time bonded and can be used again and again as stand alone learning activities or integrated into a topic for a whole class.
The learning activities have accessible, clear instructions, helping to reduce planning time.
Our kits offer educational and developmental opportunities encouraging children to explore, observe, record, develop creativity, as well as boosting fine and gross motor skills and enriching the learning experience.
National Curriculum
All of the activities encourage children’s communication and language - this is vital as language is the foundation of thinking and learning.
Learning activities can easily be fitted in to the EYFS Statutory Framework and National Curriculum subjects throughout Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. See below for some examples of how schools can link their classroom work in each subject with our Tool Kits.

The outlay for materials is minimal as much can be found in the recycling box both at school and home.
The no-frills nature makes them suitable for schools to copy and share across the education setting. We have recently introduced a digital version of our Tool Kits to make sharing in school easier.
Multiple uses
Our Tool Kits can be used in the class room, information can be shared in assemblies, used within a forest schools setting or they could be used by the green team or eco committee.
The activities could also be used as a basis for parent / child workshops.
