Giving back

It feels good to do good…

At It’s Our Planet Too we are committed to giving back.

Building a ‘business for good’ is at the heart of everything we do. It’s the reason that we became a social enterprise and ultimately why we exist.

Be it gently educating our littles ones (and their families) to make a positive change for a greener future, by distributing our boxes to children who may not receive any environmental education or supporting a charity that is very close to our hearts.

As a member of Social Enterprise UK, we commit to giving 50% of our profits to good causes. It’s still early days on our journey, but here’s a little snapshot of what we’ve been doing.

Giving back to children

Climate literacy should not be the preserve of the more fortunate in society, it should be a priority to teach all children about the importance of conserving and protecting our planet.

Our Tool Kits For Eco Heroes are aimed at families to explore and learn together, yet we are mindful that many of our customers have the disposable income and education to understand the need for this resource.

Here at It’s Our Planet Too, we want to help expose children from all backgrounds to an element of environmental education they may not otherwise receive.

We are working with a number of organisations in our local community to help them boost their eco activities and education.

By gifting our Tool Kits For Eco Heroes, either to use within their organisations or to share with the children and families that attend, we hope to empower more children to take on the challenge of fighting for our planet!

Giving back to wildlife

We share our planet with over two million different species, but the future of many animals is at risk because of humans. To become extinct is to be gone forever.

The extinction of at least 500 animal species has been caused by humans, mostly in the last 100 years. Actions, such as destroying habitats, hunting and poaching as well as climate change has put more animals at risk.

We are proud to support the Born Free Foundation, an organisation that is very close to our heart.

The Born Free Foundation is an international wildlife charity that campaigns to ‘Keep Wildlife In The Wild’. They are passionate about wild animal welfare and Compassionate Conservation.

Founded by Virginia McKenna OBE, Will Travers OBE and Bill Travers MBE in 1984, Born Free works tirelessly to stop the exploitation and suffering of animals living in captivity or in the wild.

Working in the UK, Kenya, Ethiopia and South Africa, their educational activities inspire people, young and old, to respect wildlife and the natural world.

Our special ‘majestic lions’ Tool Kit for Eco Heroes was produced to mark Born Free’s ‘Year of the Lion’. A year of action for lions in honour of the 100th birthday year of Bill Travers MBE, the charity’s fearless founder and very own lionheart.

Our Tool Kit will help you learn more about these amazing creatures and understand some of the threats facing the king of the jungle as well as giving back back to this amazing conservation charity.
